Why are we here? Why did we start this?
The time has almost come. It has been a lot of long nights spent to get The Summer 900 Challenge up and running. I just wanted to take some time today to talk about why we are doing this. I am a strong believer in the term “why” because if your why is not defined, there is no hope in the success of anything.
There are a few reasons as to why we have created this challenge. The first reason, to give back. We want to give back to the community and try to make an impact on the world. If you look around it is obvious in today’s day and age that there is a gap that needs to be filled, we are here to do that. For the 2019 year, we are going to be donating all of the money raised to the Huntsman cancer institute. I personally have suffered from multiple cancer-related losses and I know that this is not a rarity. Together we can come together and try to squash this bug we call cancer once and for all this is a huge “why” in the reason we exist.
The second “Why” is to get people off the couch and moving! Movement gives us life and we have moved away from that. We sit on our couch and binge watch Netflix with nothing pushing us to be better. If we can kick this habit and remember what it is like to move and encourage our friends and family to do the same, we have succeeded. A goal of ours is for people to reach out to those they know and love that are not always the most active people and encourage them to take action. We want to create the best Challenge in the world for those that participate by blending non-profit and activity together to make both your life better, as well as the community around you.
